Juan Villegas Cortez received his BS degree in Mathematics applied to Computer Science from the Metropolitan Autonomous University,  Campus Iztapalapa (UAM-Iztapalapa) in 1996. He obtained his Master degree in Computer Science from the Metropolitan Autonomous University,  Campus Azcapotzalco (UAM-Azcapotzalco) in 2005.  He obtained his Ph. D. on Computer Science Program in the Pattern Recognition Laboratory of the Center for Computer Research, of the National Polytechnic Institute from Mexico at 2009.  He is working about Pattern Recognition, Image Analysis, Artificial Neural Networks, Associative Memories and Font Recognition applications.

Since February 2011 Juan is working as Professor at Metropolitan Autonomous University, campus Azcapotzalco in Mexico D.F.
